Towong Shire Council

Towong Shire, in far North East Victoria, enjoys some of Australia’s most spectacular environments. It has around 5,985 residents and many more visitors across 6,669 square kilometres. The economy revolves around a rich agricultural sector, tourism and timber production and processing. Approximately two-thirds of businesses in the shire are in the agricultural and forestry industries. Towong Shire Council is one of the smallest councils in Victoria.
