Support for Carers and additional respite
Support for Carers provides tailored and flexible support options based on an unpaid carer’s needs and circumstances.
Services can be:
- information and advice
- one to one support
- group support
- counselling
- respite – carer alone, care recipient alone or carer and care recipient together
- goods and equipment to support the caring role
Additional Respite 2022-2023 provide respite options only (such as 1:1 support, facility-based respite, group setting or camps/weekend away).
Local Support for Carers providers are:
- Gateway Health: Rural and regional carers, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers, carers from multicultural communities, LGBTQIA+ carers, young carers, carers of people living with a mental illness/psychological disability. Phone 02 6022 8888.
- Rosehaven Hospice Limited: Carers supporting a person with a palliative condition. Phone 03 5775 3161.
- Uniting (Victoria and Tasmania) Limited : All carers, with a focus on rural, First Nations, culturally diverse, young people at risk of disengaging from school due to their care role. Phone 03 9051 7000.
